St. Mary of Carmen Society to host 'Cannoli for a Cause' fundraising event - Wicked Local Newton

The St. Mary of Carmen Society recently announced the awarding of $7,000 in scholarships to local students in 2020.

A private and socially distant awards ceremony will be held later in the year to honor those students. With both the 85th Festival and now the annual Scholarship Banquet canceled due to COVID-19, this year has taken a toll on fundraising efforts.

To continue the 85-year tradition of giving back, the organization will partner with Uncle Joey’s Cannoli for “Cannoli for a Cause.” Joe Sidelinger of Uncle Joey’s Cannoli will donate 50% of proceeds from orders placed at https://ift.tt/3nnYs2T now through Oct. 17.

On that day, all orders will be made fresh and ready for pickup at Our Lady Help of Christians, 573 Washington St., Newton. Orders can also be delivered within Newton for $10.

If the scheduled date and time do not work, residents can still support the scholarship fund by donating the proceeds from gift card purchases. Gift cards are available on the order form and can be mailed or picked up.
