Reese Witherspoon Makes Apple Cider Cocktail - Motherly Inc.

If you've ever stood over your baby's crib or clung to the monitor watching them as they slept, you're not alone, mama. Making sure your baby is safe while they sleep is one of the top concerns for parents, and often leads to our own sleepless nights as we struggle to relax while our baby snoozes. But you need your sleep too. Here are 10 safe sleep guidelines to keep in mind so you can rest a little easier: 1. Place baby on a firm surface in a crib or bassinet. Although your baby has the capability of falling asleep pretty much anywhere as a newborn, it is strongly recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics that all sleep happens in a crib with a firm mattress or in a bassinet. Other than a fitted sheet, nothing else should be in the crib, especially for newborns. By placing your baby on a firm surface, you will greatly reduce the risk of SIDS. 2. Put your baby on their back. This is the safest position for your baby to sleep until they learn to roll over on ...

She then fills the rest of the glass with prosecco and adds an apple wedge to decorate. Insider spoke to NYC mixologists who agreed Witherspoon's drink looks great and offered some possible tweaks to make it even better.  Visit Insider's homepage for more stories. Culinary travel goes Zoom: PASS an aperitivo - Travel Weekly

Image
I f you’ve got an older bottle of Aperol laying around, it might have the “3-2-1” recipe for an Aperol spritz on the back of the bottle. Toss it (the recipe, not the booze). The perfect Aperol spritz today is made using the PASS method: prosecco, Aperol, soda, slice. Fill a wine or balloon glass with ice, then pour in prosecco and an equal part of Aperol. Finish with a splash of soda water (seltzer or mineral is fine) and a slice of orange, and you’ve got the perfect spritz. Travel Weekly senior editor Jamie Biesiada walks managing editor Rebecca Tobin through the proper steps of making an Aperol spritz. It’s a simple but refreshing cocktail. I learned how to make it the right way during the recent Future Leaders in Travel Retreat, organized by sister publication TravelAge West, in a session with Daniel Warrilow, the Italian portfolio ambassador for Campari, and Jennifer Chaplin Tolkin, vice president of Aperol strategy at alcohol distributor Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spir...

How to make the perfect Negroni... and other recipes for a twist on the classic cocktail - Heart

Image
16 September 2020, 16:13 | Updated: 16 September 2020, 16:27 Here's how to make a perfect Negroni - and some with a twist. Picture: Getty Love an Aperol Spritz? Try a Negroni. It's a darker, more intense spritz that has been a favourite in top hotels and cocktail bars for a century. The classic Negroni is now 100 years old - and it's no surprise. Traditionally made with equal measures of gin, Campari and Vermouth, this sippable serve is classed as an apéritif, but people all over the world enjoy this famous cocktail whenever it takes their fancy. According to the experts at the Cocktail Service, the drink’s origins lie in Italy. The legend tells of a mysterious Florentine, Count Camillo Negroni, who in 1919 happened across the recipe for the Negroni cocktail. He asked for an Americano, whose ingredients are very similar to the Negroni cocktail. Its ingredients are Campari, sweet vermouth and soda water (you can find a recipe for this further down the page). The st...

Move over, Aperol spritz. This could be the summer of the paloma cocktail - MarketWatch

Image
The bottle: Fever-Tree Sparkling Pink Grapefruit, $4.99 for a four-pack The back story: Every summer sees a cocktail sensation or two. In the last couple of years, the Aperol spritz, a refreshing drink made with the Italian aperitif, has surged in popularity. And let’s not forget frosé, as in frozen rosé. But this summer we’re predicting the rise of the paloma, a cocktail that combines tequila with some form of grapefruit (as in juice or soda) and lime juice. The sip is hardly a newcomer — and in Mexico, its popularity rivals that of the margarita. But it has trended in the U.S. and globally of late. Drinks International, an industry publication, ranked it No. 36 on its most recent annual list of best-selling cocktails (the old-fashioned is number one and the margarita takes the seventh spot). All of which leaves room for a company to help us in our paloma-making efforts. Enter Fever-Tree FQVTF, +2.51% a brand of mixers that started in the United Kingdom almost 20 years ago and h...

How to make an Aperol spritz: A delicious summer drink - TODAY

Image
Arguably one of the most refreshing aperitivos, the Aperol spritz is as easy to make as it is to enjoy. Aperol has a lower alcohol content than liquors and most wines, making it an ideal pre-dinner libation that's light and refreshing enough for any summer evening. A classic Italian Aperol spritz recipe contains just three ingredients: three parts prosecco, two parts Aperol and one part sparkling water — all served over ice. Once you find a ratio that suits your taste buds, experiment by adding extras like different fresh fruits or an herbaceous accent, like mint. Shutterstock This sparkling Aperol punch is perfect for any party. In addition to Aperol, this perky punch contains Galliano, a sweet herbal liqueur. Fresh oranges, lemons and raspberries provide a not-to-sweet finish to this floral beverage. Getty Images stock To make his Aperol spritz, Carson Daly uses a surprising ingredient: Fresca soda. Sip on Some Sparkling Goodness This Summer With This Refreshing Aperol Spritz Recipe - POPSUGAR UK

Image
Calling the Aperol Spritz — a classic Italian aperitif of Prosecco, Aperol, and sparkling water — the grown-up's answer to orange soda might be selling it a bit short, but it's an apt descriptor as it tastes not unlike a sophisticated spin on the childhood favourite. Aperol's main and most identifiable flavour is bitter orange, while Prosecco and sparkling water give the drink a fizzy lift. Combined, it's easy to drink, refreshing, and perfect for sipping as the sun sets on hazy summer afternoons. — Additional reporting by Haley Lyndes Ingredients Ice Orange slice 3 parts Prosecco 2 parts Aperol 1 part sparkling water Directions Add ice and a slice of orange to a glass. Pour in the Prosecco, then the Aperol, and finally the sparkling water. This order prevents the Aperol from settling at the bottom. It’s fizzy, it’s pink, it’s a cheery aperitif. This spin on the classic Italian Aperol spritz uses sparkling rosé instead of plain prosecco. For a less sweet drink, you can skip the fresh citrus juice and drop a lemon twist into the glass. A wine glass is standard but any glass that fits this quantity of liquid works.
