Where To Find The Best Seafood In Pearland
You Might Want To Get Loaded At This Boise Brewery's New Restaurant. It's Recommended
After sampling test dishes at Boise Brewing's new restaurant, Collin Rudeen has figured out what he prefers.
To get loaded.
His menu pick? BBQ Loaded Fries ($12): Sidewinder fries topped with queso, roasted pork, apple slaw, green onions and barbecue sauce.
"So far" and "probably," he adds, "... Of all the things I've tried."
Choosing a favorite wasn't easy. For the first time in its nine-year history, Boise Brewing, 521 W. Broad St., is slinging food made in-house. It's part of an expansion that added a kitchen and doubled the downtown operation's seating capacity. A community-supported brewery with roughly 800 owners, Boise Brewing will unveil the adjacent eatery on Friday.
"We've been having the staff taste everything," says Rudeen, Boise Brewing's founder. "Every time a new dish comes out, it's like, 'Oh damn, that's good.' I'm trying not to gain weight working here!"
With the restaurant next to the taproom, Boise Brewing now has an indoor capacity of about 120 people, Rudeen says — or 250 including outdoor patio space. The decision to absorb the spot next door was driven by hungry customers, he explains. "Just getting tired of people asking if we've got food — and then leaving because we don't have food."
Taquitos ($10): Three taquitos topped with melted cheese, lettuce, pico, cotija cheese, guacamole, tomatillo crema, chipotle crema, and your choice of filling (pork, chicken or black bean and cheese).
Pub fareBoise Brewing definitely can fill bellies now.
Loaded fries also come in Classic ($11) and Mexi ($13) versions. Other tempting starters include Taquitos ($10), Street Corn Frites ($12) and Popcorn Cod Bites ($12).
"Elevated pub fare" might be cliche, but it's precisely what Boise Brewing is attempting to do. Burger fans will find five selections, all served on Gaston's Bakery brioche buns. A classic double Smash Burger ($16) leads the charge. Additional, creative options include the Poblano Burger ($18) — anchored by a smoked beef patty and cheese-stuffed roasted poblano — a vegetarian Spicy Paneer Burger ($16), a Shrimp Burger ($18) and a double Patty Melt ($16).
An array of beers are available in the taproom, which is open seven days a week.
Among three salad options, a highlight is the Kale & Bacon ($14): baby kale mix with shredded carrots, diced beets, roasted pepitas, spring peas, fresh apricot, sliced watermelon radish and crispy bacon, tossed with carrot-ginger dressing.
Award-winning beerTo help wash down those salads and loaded fries, there's plenty of award-winning beer. Earlier in May, Boise Brewing won its latest medal, a silver, at the World Beer Cup for Jagged Shard Imperial Red Ale.
On opening weekend, food will be served starting at 2 p.M. Friday, then at 4 p.M. Saturday and Sunday. Normal hours for food service will be 4 to 10 p.M. Daily, except on Mondays, when the kitchen won't operate. (The brewery will be open, however.) Depending on hiring, lunch service could be added, Rudeen said.
If you're craving even more culinary diversity after scanning the menu? Be patient. Depending once again on hiring, Boise Brewing's menu might expand.
"That's where we'll start," Rudeen says. "In an ideal world, we'll have more than that. But with the staff that we've got right now, this is what we figure we can crank out."

How To Make Animal Style Fries At McDonald's As Hack Goes Viral
A trend has taken over social media where people are making their own yummy Animal Fries at McDonald's.
Animal Fries are a popular secret menu item at In-N-Out. If you ask your server for them, your fries will be topped with American cheese, onions and a secret sauce.
It's not really much of a secret anymore and everyone orders the concoction – but you can actually get Animal Fries at any fast food chain, like McDonald's.
You can't ask them to make it, but you can create the loaded fries yourself. Here's how to do it…

Then, all you need to do is pour the fries into a bowl or tray and add all of the ingredients on top to create your own Animal Fries.
YouTuber Steph Pappas tricked internet users this week with a video titled: "McDonalds NEW In-N-Out Animal Style McDouble."
Some thought McDonald's had officially added Animal Fries onto the menu, but that's sadly not the case. Here's a TikTok tutorial:
Loaded Fries are going viral tooOthers on social media are making Loaded Fries at McDonald's, which are essentially the same thing but with even more toppings.
As well as cheese and onions, you add broken up pieces of burger, nuggets, mozzarella dippers and anything else you can think of.
The options are endless and result in a yummy portion of loaded fries topped with a sauce of your choice, like BBQ or ranch.
If you need another McDonald's secret menu item to try, make a McGangBang. You definitely won't be disappointed!
Big Mac sauce pots arrive as McDonald'sThe Animal Fries trend was made a whole lot easier earlier this year when McDonald's released new Big Mac Sauce pots.
Rather than praying your server is kind enough to pour some Big Mac sauce in a burger box, you could get a dip cup instead.
The new menu item arrived on April 27 at participating US restaurants, but it was limited edition and sadly not a permanent addition.
It's not clear whether they're still available, but you could only get them on the app. The sauce comes in retro blue and silver packaging.

Besides getting the free serape at the door during the event, fans at the game also had the chance to try the Chef Merito Loaded Birria Fries, served in a mini baseball helmet, which was created by Dodger Stadium Executive Chef Christine Gerriets and food blogger Eddie Sanchez.
"This is definitely an exciting dish for us to bring to our fans," Gerriets said. "I want people to feel like their abuela made it and they're eating at home."
Think of it as a steak and fries but with birria, which is a traditional Mexican meat stew that's cooked for hours after the meat is marinated in an adobo typically made of vinegar, garlic, dried chiles and herbs and spices.
The Birria Fries were topped with cilantro, pickled onions and salsa verde to create a surprisingly spicy, juicy and pretty authentic tasting dish.
It's available on the field level cantina and reserve level section 17, but only for this upcoming May 29-31 homestand.
Gerriets said it could become a permanent dish at the stadium, but there are no solid plans for that yet.
So if you can't make the stadium, don't worry, we have the recipe.
Chef Merito Loaded Birria Fries1.5 oz Chef Merito Adobo para Birria (Chef Merito is a company that makes seasonings, spices, marinades and the are the "official seasoning" for the L.A. Dodgers).
1 lb. Of beef chuck roast or short rib
6 oz. Of frozen fries
½ oz. Pickled onions
¼ oz. Chopped cilantro
4 oz. White cheese
2 oz. Salsa verde
Birria: If using beef chuck roast, cut the meat in 4-5 inch cubes. If you're using short ribs, cook whole. Place the meat in a mixing bowl, coat it with Chef Merito Adobo and let it marinate in the refrigerator for 3 hours. Then cover the meat and cook over medium-low heat in a large saucepan for 3 hours. (In a slow cooker, cook for 8 hours). Stir the meat every 20-30 minutes.
Fries: Preheat oil in a medium saucepan at medium-low heat. Once it's heated, add fries and fry for 3.5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain excess oil with a paper towel and let fries rest for two minutes. Put the fries in a shallow bowl and add the birria, pickled onions white cheese, cilantro and salsa verde to serve. This recipe was more than enough for two.
