Creative Currency and Def Jam are hosting a live Q&A with Dallasite and rapper Kaash Paige and Poizon Ivy the DJ (the official DJ of the Dallas Mavericks) on Thursday at 7 p.m. The webinar will take place on Zoom, and the pair will be taking questions from the audience. Click here to RSVP.

Friday, May 1

The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum has a virtual book club meeting at 1 p.m. with Jane Yolen, author of The Devil’s Arithmetic. You can register to join the e-meeting here. 

TX Whiskey is presenting another edition of Straight From The Couch hosted by the Texas Piano Man Robert Ellis and featuring special guests Ed Helms, Jonny Fritz, Cory Chisel, and Watkins Family Hour. All tips from the performance will go to HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians), an organization that offers affordable healthcare to Austin-based, low-income working musicians. DJ Blake Ward is going live for another Disco, TX dance party on Friday at 8 p.m. He’ll be playing music of the ‘80s this week. You can tune in on Twitch. 

Bon Appétit is having its first live variety show on YouTube at 7 p.m. The full BA test kitchen team will be jumping in, including Dallas native Priya Krishna, who’s currently isolating with her family in North Texas. All proceeds raised from the event will go to World Central Kitchen. Saturday, May 2 

The Dallas Opera is streaming a performance of The Barber of Seville on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Register here ahead of time to enjoy the show. 

Studio 22 has a virtual happy hour and dance class from 6-7 p.m. This Saturday, they’ll be teaching the Argentine Tango. Sign up here. 

Sandaga 813 has its weekly Virtual Soul event from 8-11 p.m. with performances by Natural Change and Soulful Soundz. The concert will be streamed on Facebook and Instagram.

The Rustic owner Kyle Noonan is hosting Kyle’s Kitchen, a cooking and live music event on The Rustic’s IG TV. You can order a meal kit ahead of time to cook along with the host–this week he’s making Joe Leo Brisket Tacos and margs. Kirk Holloway will also be giving a musical performance during the episode.
