Why You Should Try Adding Tzatziki To Your Egg Salad - Tasting Table

Mayonnaise may be one of the main ingredients in egg salad, but that doesn't mean substituting it for something else will ruin an otherwise delicious sandwich spread. According to a recipe Rocco DiSpirito shared with The Rachael Ray Show, Greek yogurt alone functions as a mayonnaise alternative. With some vinegar, cornstarch, mustard, salt, and sweetener, you can even mimic the taste of it. Since tzatziki is Greek yogurt plus a few extra ingredients and seasonings, it works just as well as a mayonnaise substitute in any egg salad.

For best results, Cabot Cheese recommends a half cup of tzatziki per six hard-boiled eggs, but as Livestrong explains, Greek yogurt and mayonnaise can be swapped at a perfect one-to-one ratio, so you can use any egg salad recipe without tweaking the other ingredients. Just replace the mayonnaise with tzatziki and you can transform any egg salad.
